Moving a family of six from Florida to France came with big unknowns, especially when it came to school. Our three youngest started right away and began exploring hands-on classes like woodworking, sewing, and gardening while our oldest faced a longer wait for placement. Here is how we navigated the French education system and what we learned along the way.

Starting over in a new country comes with plenty of excitement, but it also brings real challenges, especially for kids. Walking into a school where you don’t yet speak the language can feel overwhelming, and last week one of those hard days found its way to our family. What happened next reminded us that kindness can bridge even the widest gaps.

Adjusting to life in France isn’t just about the big move. It is the little daily challenges that test our patience, stretch our comfort zones, and slowly teach us what it really means to live abroad.

Stepping off the plane and into our new life, we quickly discovered that our first week in France has been a mix of small adventures, cultural lessons, and the start of the dream we worked so hard to make real.
